Mission

Virginia Girls Basketball Association (VGBA) was founded in September of 2000. A dedicated group of individuals met during the summer to discuss the possibility of forming a girls basketball club in the greater Richmond area. After its inception in the fall of 2000, VGBA established their team name, Virginia Xplosion, and quickly became one of the premier clubs in the state. VGBA continues to grow while maintaining the core principles that have  contributed to its enormous success!

VGBA Core Principles:

  • Providing opportunities for players to compete at the highest levels.
  • Recruiting the most highly qualified coaches
  • Teaching players life skills as well as basketball fundamentals
  • Maintaining a positive attitude at all times
  • Promoting a close "family friendly" atmosphere
